It's working...

I know that it's been a few days but for any of you who actually have the sense to follow this I do apologize. I have been otherwise preoccupied looking into other possible augmentations...

Here's the data that I promised to provide.

Day 3
Dosage: 100mg
Effective influence duration: 10 (not powdered intensity remained the same. This leads me to believe that uptake is limited and intensity reaches a peak)
Side effects: none.
Notes: Again, no notable increase in cognitive activity. Simply "tunnel vision". The inability the abandon a task mid task. This causes problem especially when trying to figure out solutions to problems (such as in physics) and not having suitable information. Can drive one to madness.

Day 4
Effective influence duration: 12 hours (powdered this time)
Side effects: elevated heart rate (probably due to caffeine intake as this did not happen before or after this day)
Notes: Pretty much the same except for the accelerated heart rate. Hypochondriacs beware. Managed to do research for an essay that needed to get done. Got started on the essay about 3 hours after the compound wore off. Finished the essay an hour and a half from this point.

Day 5
No intake on this day.
Notes: compound not ingested on this day due to a potential shortage. I did however feel as though I was still under the influence of the compound as my concentration was rather good all day. (curious, could this be the drug affecting my outlook of things or forming new neural pathways that lead me to think this way? Further investigation will determine). I did not suffer from loss of appetite like I did when I was under the influence of the compound. This proves that I was not using it. In addition, I was able to fall asleep at around 10:30 whereas if I were on the compound, I would have only started to feel tired after 12 in the morning.

Day 6
pretty much the same as the day before with the exception of one thing. Heart rate remained within normal limits (proving my hypothesis that caffeine uptake was in fact the cause of this problem in the first place)

I plan to use the compound for another week and then go off it for a week to see if the effects last like I hypothesized. I don't like to be dependent on things if I can avoid it. At the end of the day it really is just a matter of will power. Stay posted

Progress.

I took the first dose of 200 mg modafinil and was convinced that it wasn't going to work. Then it came to me. Modafinil doesn't make you suddenly interested in math or any such thing that you wouldn't normally be interested in. I found myself browsing the internet (might I add, very efficiently) looking at diagrams for rotary pneumatic actuators. Then it hit me. This compound prevents one from being getting distracted when performing a task. I hadn't realized this earlier because everything felt so natural. Modafinil, not being an amphetamine, has no visual effects that one would attribute to anything other that good concentration. I would like to admit that while my concentration may not be poor, I have a tendency to put off seemingly daunting tasks.

Day 1.
Kick in time: 10-30 minutes
Time when influence may be felt: 14-18 hours for a 200mg dose
Side effects felt: Discomfort around the eyes (may be attributed to using the computer and other screened devices more than the usual amount of time)
Notes: No increase in intelligence. No visual change in cognitive efficiency (refer to above statement)
*as someone who frequently procrastinates, I felt that i could read something for about 4 hours without being able to convince myself that I needed to take a break. Almost driven to insanity on the first day when being unable to understand the relation of circular velocity vectors in relation to SHM. Obsession over trying to finish something when started. Procrastination usually leads to one effectively convincing them self that a task may not require attention. I was unable to do this when under the influence of the compound.
*dose was taken at 12 noon. The effect lasted until 3 in the morning the next day. Recommended ingestion period of 200 mg dose: 15 hours before intended rest period.

Day 2.
kick in time: decreased to 5 minutes (tablets powered as to increase surface area)
Duration for which influence may be felt: 12 hours
Side effects felt: significantly less discomfort around the eyes (may be caused by reduced dosage or but most probably due to less exposure to devices with bright screens)
Notes: Again no significant increase in cognitive activity as compared to that which would have been experienced had the compound not been taken. *I was able to complete 3 chapters of advanced chemistry and 2 chapters of advanced physics within a 6 hour period with full understanding and full recollection the following day (today) when the compound was not taken. *intensity not reduced when dosage was cut to half. Speculation leads me to believe that this may be due to powdering the compound.
*no "crash" experienced when the compound seemingly lost its effect.

Control:
IQ - 126
memory retention: average

I will take daily 100 mg doses for the next 4 days. I will post updates for the next 5 days.

The first step...

"What distinguishes us from the animals that we deem savage is our innate ability to comprehend. Therein lies the epicenter of human barbarism"
- Agron Zala

It has come to my understanding that true human belief is not as fickle as it has been made out to be. For people to truly accept that around them they mustn't know, but understand. That being said, indoctrination does not work. Humans neither progress as fast as they should nor do they evolve at the same rate. Evolution dictates that organisms will adapt in order to survive and those unable to adapt will die. I am no murderer. I only seek to enhance the human experience. To bring us to the level which we all sought to reach... The true pinnacle of human evolution. In order to do this, my brothers and sisters, we must unite! We were placed on this earth by an incomprehensible power. We were placed on this earth together but greed and those who succumbed to it forces us to drift apart. My allegiance no longer lies with the doctrines that once held power. No longer will be be subjected to the whims of those who claim power over us. My allegiance is with the human race. My enemies are those driven to divide it.

To truly evolve, we must strengthen the body and enhance the mind...

Cognitive enhancement:
This is the first step in the human augmentation program. In order to accelerate progress we must accelerate the mind. Accelerate perception and in effect embrace the new human form.

stage 1:
For the next 14 days I am going to be ingesting modafinil in 100 milligram doses daily. Though the exact science behind its function are yet unknown to most, evidence leaves me to speculate that the compound increases neurotransmitter activity in the nervous system among other things. I will be uploading my progress daily.

Greed: the essential human flaw.

Throughout the history of human kind we have been plagued with the greatest of plagues. Not one of the body but one of the mind. A coexistent ability and inability to comprehend. We claim our position at the top of the evolutionary ladder and measure our progress through what we attain as individuals and not what we seek to achieve as a race. We set ourselves apart from animals whom we deem barbaric yet we desire the same, comfort and absolution, for we are, at our cores, not animals but beneath them. We are manipulated by the very fallacies which we create. Constantly compromising the integrity of our race to remain in a state of disillusionment which will bring us to our inevitable and subsequent demise.
